Collide Capital is an early-stage venture capital firm that envisions a world where capital is awarded to founders best positioned to solve the next generation of global challenges. We invest in early-stage companies from pre-seed to Series A, with a focus on founders building in the FinTech, Supply Chain, and Future of Work sectors.

Collide Capital is led by two Black GPs who founded AfroTech and BLCK VC. With institutional training from Goldman Sachs, Bain & Co, Harvard Business School, and Stanford Graduate School of Business, they set out to raise a $40M Fund 1 and successfully closed in 2022 with an oversubscribed vehicle with $66M in AUM. To date, Collide Capital has backed over 40 companies, of which 80%+ are led by Black, Latinx, or Female Founders.

About the Role

Collide Capital is seeking a full-time Principal to join our investing team. This is a high-impact role for an experienced investor eager to take ownership of the full investment lifecycle—sourcing, evaluating, and executing deals—while directly shaping the growth and direction of an emerging VC firm. The Principal will play a key role in firm-building, mentoring junior team members, and representing Collide Capital with founders, partners, and the broader ecosystem. This is an ideal opportunity for a driven professional on a Partner-track trajectory, ready to make a lasting mark on both our portfolio and our firm’s legacy.

Responsibilities

  • Internal Leadership & Firm Building – Directly supervise junior members of the investment team, contribute to firm operations, and support Collide Capital’s brand and community engagement.
  • Deal Sourcing & Pipeline Management – Proactively identify, evaluate, and build a robust pipeline of early-stage investment opportunities aligned with Collide Capital’s thesis and focus areas.
  • Portfolio Reporting & Communications – Prepare quarterly and annual portfolio reviews, craft data-driven insights, and deliver updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Investment Execution – Lead all aspects of deal execution, including due diligence, market research, financial modeling, and term sheet negotiation.
  • Portfolio Company Support – Serve as a board observer or director for select portfolio companies, providing strategic guidance and operational support.
  • Market & Trend Analysis – Conduct ongoing analysis of market themes and sub-sectors, and monitor emerging technologies and trends relevant to Collide’s investment strategy.
