Role Overview:
We are seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our engineering team, supporting the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for our self-propelled rail vehicles. This role will focus on ensuring our product designs are manufacturable, developing efficient production methods, working with vendors, and contributing to the quality and cost-effectiveness of our innovative rail solutions.
This is a full-time, in-office position based out of St. Louis, MO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) considerations are integrated into product designs.
- Develop, document, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, procedures, and work instructions for rail vehicle components and assemblies.
- Support the selection, implementation, and optimization of manufacturing equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Participate in process validation activities and contribute to quality control initiatives to ensure product integrity.
- Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify opportunities for efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
- Contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts and production ramp-up strategies.
- Work with suppliers and internal manufacturing colleagues to ensure production requirements are met and optimized.
Team Dynamics:
- Work within dynamic teams on diverse projects, typically ranging from small (1-2) to medium (3-6) members.

About You
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process development, or a related field (including academic projects or internships).
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and quality principles.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, Fusion, or AutoCAD).
- Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.
- Fluent in both written and verbal English.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:
- Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) or Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Experience in directly applicable industry or projects, such as Rail, Electric Vehicles, Automotive, Aerospace, or Heavy Machinery.
- Demonstrated experience working on project teams and collaborating with other engineering disciplines.
Typical Education and Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 0-2 years' related work experience, or relevant academic projects/internships.

This position does not offer relocation.
