Role Overview:

Intramotev is seeking a motivated Lead Test Engineer to join the Systems Engineering organization to meet growing demands in the development of self-propelled rail vehicles. This pivotal role is responsible for establishing and leading our internal test capabilities, from component-level hardware verification to full-vehicle autonomous software validation. You will own the end-to-end engineering test process, growing Intramotev's internal capabilities while ensuring our breakthrough technology meets the highest standards of performance and safety.

This position is based out of St. Louis, MO and is a 100% in-office, full-time role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead System Testing: Establish and grow internal test capabilities and facilities for verifying complex hardware and software systems from component to full vehicle levels.

  • Test Strategy & Definition: Define and document comprehensive test plans and procedures for diverse rail vehicles and specific customer operational profiles.

  • Requirements Management: Manage and trace test requirements within Jira to ensure full verification and validation of all system specifications.

  • On-Site Acceptance Testing: Lead factory and site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT) at customer locations, managing customer interactions and performance demonstrations.

  • Hardware & Software Verification: Direct multidisciplinary efforts to validate integrated systems, ensuring both functional and operational requirements are satisfied.

  • Lifecycle Support: Address and resolve testing-related issues for fielded systems, providing comprehensive support throughout the entire product lifecycle.

  • Innovation & Research: Stay abreast of technological advancements in automated testing and recommend investments to enhance internal operations.

Team Dynamics:

  • Lead and work within dynamic teams of 3-10 members on diverse projects.

  • Adapt to evolving project objectives and requirements introduced through prioritized capability enhancements.

  • Engage in occasional domestic or international travel for testing, integration, demonstrations, and customer interactions.

About You:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Science.

  • 4 or more years of experience in system testing, verification, and validation of complex integrated systems.

  • Proven experience managing test requirements and defect tracking in tools such as Jira, or other requirements management tools.

  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.

  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor and as a leader.

  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.

  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

  • Experience in directly applicable industry or projects, such as Rail, Electric Vehicles, or Unmanned Systems.

  • Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing methodologies.
  • Experience leading software or hardware development teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working across organizational boundaries and collaborating with other engineering disciplines.

  • Experience working in Agile environments for hardware and software development.

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor and/or Master) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
