Manufacturing AI Trainer, $120-$165/hour
Project Overview
We are seeking a skilled Senior Manufacturing Digital Transformation Strategist & Technical Writer (Industry 4.x) to work as a project consultant in our AI Labor Marketplace. This is not a full-time employment position - you will participate as an expert consultant on a contract basis, contributing domain knowledge to support high-quality AI training and evaluation workflows.
Location: U.S.-based experts only
Engagement: Part-time, project-based expert evaluation and content development
Work Type: Remote
We are looking for practitioners who can translate and evaluate complex manufacturing transformation topics - ERP–OT integration, IIoT/Edge AI architectures, data harmonization, zero-trust cybersecurity, predictive maintenance/OEE, and global rollout governance. Work will help refine models used for content generation, evaluation, and reasoning in the manufacturing and Industrial IoT domains.
This is a project-based consultant role. Consultants will be paid on a per-project basis; hourly rates are estimates based upon anticipated time of completion. Consultants will control their own schedule, provide their own tools to perform the work, and are free to simultaneously provide services to other vendors and employers to the extent permitted by those vendors and employers.
Responsibilities
Contributors will:
- Evaluate AI-generated content using structured rubrics, scoring outputs for technical accuracy, clarity, completeness, and alignment with manufacturing best practices.
- Develop and refine rubrics for Industry 4.x topics such as ERP–OT integration, IIoT/Edge architectures, OT cybersecurity, predictive maintenance/OEE, and data governance.
- Author high-quality reference content, including architecture summaries, decision frameworks, KPI/OEE modules, and policy templates used for model benchmarking and training.
- Review and improve model-generated technical scenarios, including multi-site rollout strategies, zero-trust implementations, analytic pipelines, and integration playbooks.
- Identify gaps, risks, and misconceptions in model responses and recommend targeted improvements grounded in real-world OT/IT practices.
- Ensure all written outputs are precise, vendor-neutral, well-cited, and accessible to non-engineers.
Expected Outcomes
- High-quality rubrics and evaluation frameworks that improve model reasoning across OT/IT integration, predictive maintenance, OEE, analytics, and factory cybersecurity.
- Clear, expert-level reference materials and scored examples that support AI training, benchmarking, and content quality standards.
Qualifications
- 8+ years in Industry 4.x roles such as manufacturing engineering, IIoT/OT integration, MES/SCADA architecture, digital transformation PMO, or industrial cybersecurity.
- Hands-on experience with ERP–MES–SCADA/PLC integrations, IIoT/Edge technologies (OPC UA, MQTT), and secure industrial networking.
- Strong understanding of zero-trust in OT environments (network segmentation, identity/access, encryption, secure edge).
- Demonstrated ability to write clear technical memos, architectures, policies, and executive roadmaps for multi-site programs.
- Fluency with manufacturing KPIs including OEE, downtime, MTTR/MTBF, asset utilization, and ROI modeling..
