Project Overview

Join a growing community of professionals advancing the next generation of AI. As an AI Trainer, you'll help improve large language models (LLMs) by applying your energy industry expertise to evaluate AI-generated outputs and create realistic enterprise scenarios. Your work will help ensure AI systems better understand the complexity, terminology, and decision-making processes found across the energy sector.

We are seeking experienced energy professionals to work as project consultants in our AI Labor Marketplace. This is not a full-time employment position—you will be engaged as an expert project consultant on a contract basis.

Location: U.S.-based experts only

Engagement: 1099 project-based

Work Type: Remote

Project Summary

This project focuses on developing high-quality benchmark data for evaluating AI performance on real-world energy industry workflows. Contributors will create enterprise-grade evaluation tasks based on authentic business documents and operational scenarios commonly encountered in the energy sector.

Each task will require contributors to develop or curate realistic source materials, design business prompts, produce expert "golden" responses, develop detailed evaluation rubrics, and assess AI-generated outputs. The work emphasizes business reasoning, document comprehension, technical accuracy, and practical decision-making representative of real enterprise environments.

Example subject areas include:

  • Power generation and plant operations
  • Oil & gas operations
  • Renewable energy projects
  • Utilities and grid operations
  • Transmission and distribution
  • Energy markets and trading
  • Asset management and maintenance
  • Capital project planning
  • Engineering operations
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Operational performance reviews
  • Energy procurement and resource planning
  • Safety and environmental programs
  • Executive and strategic planning

Consultant Engagement Terms

This is a project-based consultant role. Consultants will be paid on a per-project basis; hourly rates are estimates based on anticipated completion time. Consultants control their own schedule, provide their own tools, and may simultaneously provide services to other vendors/employers (subject to those vendors' allowances).

Responsibilities

Contributors will:

  • Create realistic enterprise scenarios based on professional experience within the energy industry
  • Develop or curate business source documents (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) that reflect authentic energy workflows
  • Design prompts requiring document analysis, business reasoning, and technical decision-making
  • Produce high-quality, expert-authored "golden" responses
  • Develop detailed evaluation rubrics to assess AI-generated responses for accuracy, completeness, reasoning, and domain expertise
  • Evaluate responses produced by leading AI models and provide structured feedback
  • Identify factual inaccuracies, reasoning gaps, unsupported assumptions, and omissions
  • Ensure all deliverables reflect realistic business practices and operational decision-making within the energy industry

Expected Outcomes

Contributors will produce complete AI evaluation task packages that include:

  • Enterprise source document(s)
  • Business prompt
  • Golden response
  • Evaluation rubric
  • Comparative evaluation of AI-generated responses

All deliverables should reflect real-world energy industry workflows and professional standards.
