The Role

As a Financial Operations Business Analyst on the Financial Operations team, you will serve as a subject matter expert and bridge between Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations. Your mandate is to ensure the integrity of financial data and controls across products, platforms, and money movement channels, driving automation, scalability, and accuracy within our financial ecosystem.

You will be a key contributor in configuring and validating core ledger systems, building reconciliation frameworks, and operationalizing new financial products such as debit and credit cards. This role requires both technical acumen and financial domain expertise, with a strong emphasis on data, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.

This position reports to the Financial Operations Lead

What You’ll Do

  • Core Ledger Configuration & Product Enablement

    • Partner with Product and Engineering to configure and validate new products and features in the Core Ledger platform.

    • Define ledger event mapping, accounting rules, and reconciliation requirements for new product launches (e.g., credit, debit, lending, or deposits).

    • Support end-to-end transaction data integrity across all product and money movement systems.

  • Reconciliation & Controls

    • Design and implement scalable reconciliation frameworks across customer accounts.
      Lead automation of high-volume reconciliations to minimize manual intervention and reduce operational risk.

    • Monitor and resolve reconciliation breaks, ensuring issues are addressed within established SLAs.

  • Operational Excellence

    • Collaborate with banking partners, network processors, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate and timely transaction settlement.

    • Act as a key stakeholder in card network (Visa, Mastercard) and dispute process setup and reconciliation design.

    • Evaluate and implement control improvements, reporting dashboards, and process enhancements.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership

    • Translate complex financial and technical requirements into actionable product and engineering deliverables.

    • Serve as the subject matter expert for reconciliation logic, ledger flows, and financial operations reporting.

    • Partner with Finance and Product Control to ensure complete and accurate reflection of company income, expenses, and balance sheet positions.

You Bring

  • Experience: 7–10 years in Financial Operations, Product Control, or Reconciliation roles within fintech, banking, or payments.

  • Technical Expertise:

    • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Core Ledger systems or equivalent financial sub-ledger environments.

    • Proficiency in SQL (required) and advanced Excel (including macros, pivot tables, Power Query).

    • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, Looker, Tableau, Databricks) is a plus.

  • Product Knowledge:

    • Deep understanding of card network products (debit and credit), including settlement, disputes, and chargebacks.

    • Experience launching new consumer financial products or integrating new payment flows preferred.

  • Mindset:

    • Act-like-an-owner mentality; thrives in ambiguity and fast-paced environments.

    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

    • Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive cross-functional execution.
