Insurance Domain Engineer
Remote
Posted on Jul 3, 2026
Braven is agentic infrastructure for reinsurance. Our agents run complete workflows: ingest submissions and documents, classify risk against appetite, and generate quotes and bordereaux autonomously, with a 100% audit trail on every decision. As a forward deployed, Mid Senior / Senior engineer on the Product / Domain team, you turn messy real world reinsurance operations into clean, reusable models that keep the product general. Paid in USD. Equity with real ownership, early stage. Remote, with in person hackathons and offsites.
What you'll do
- Own how new clients go live: understand their operation deeply, model their data and workflows, and get them running end to end.
- Keep the product general: model each client declaratively so it generalizes across carriers, MGAs, brokers and TPAs instead of becoming per tenant code.
- Be the domain voice in product decisions: submissions, underwriting, renewals, endorsements, bordereaux, binders, capacity, reinsurance.
- Take a real client, understand their operation, and get it running on Braven, resisting the shortcut of hardcoding the specific case.
- Sit with a carrier ops team, translate need into model, and stay close until it actually works in production.
- Feed real world friction back to product: when something forces a workaround, push for the general fix.
What we're looking for
- You model messy real world operations into clean, reusable data models (config first, not hardcode), and you get your hands dirty to make them run.
- Background in a complex, regulated, operational domain. Insurance or InsurTech is ideal, but fintech, B2B operations or any regulated industry counts.
- Solid data modeling (SQL, schemas, relationships) and enough technical depth to build, not just spec. Engineering background desired.
- Customer facing and operational: comfortable on a call with a carrier ops team and equally comfortable getting into the data.
- Spanish and strong English. You will work with LATAM and US clients and team.
- Nice to have: fluency in (re)insurance operations and forward deployed, solutions or implementation engineering on a B2B SaaS product.
